91Patrikswim's Collection
About the Collector
I have been collecting commercial airline models for about 30 years since I was a young kid. I still can recall monthly trips with my dad to the gift shop at Dayton International Airport to buy one or two Herpa diecast models using my allowance money.
About the Collection
Generally, I collect 1:200 scale models in a combination of diecast and plastic types without too much regard to the model manufacturer, but I do have an affinity for InFlight 200. I focus on collecting my favorite airlines, special liveries, aircraft types, and especially those airplanes upon which I have personally flown. From an airline perspective, my collection has added emphasis on United and Continental—and to a lesser extent—Delta, ANA, Lufthansa, Condor, and Canadian. From a type perspective, I tend to seek out the 757, my personal favorite, and also am building an RJ + turboprop collection plus an interest in defunct airlines and retired liveries. I am also on a quest to collect Olympic Games-themed special liveries through which I am finding an excellent way to build diversity in my collection. So far, I have Sapporo 1972 (ANA 727-200), Atlanta 1996 (Delta 767-200), Salt Lake 2002 (DL Connection CRJ-200), London 2012 (British Airways A319), Sochi 2014 (Aeroflot A320), Tokyo 2020 (ANA 777-200ER), and Beijing 2022 (Air China 737-800).
